The school was originally opened to help returning veterans regain their emotional and career balances. With this in mind, LeTourneau University is still devoted to current and former military personnel. In the 2009 fall semester, LeTourneau will be offering up to 100 qualifying personnel free tuition.

Online students are enabled and encouraged to network in much the same way that on-campus students are: LeTourneau provides an eLearning platform that offers interaction not only with faculty (who are able to give individual attention thanks to the university´s famously small class sizes) but also with eachother. This allows students to support and learn from eachother as well as develop valuable networks for the future.
